5 things I enjoyed in April
Let's start with the biggest event of the month: my little trip to Barcelona. I spent a long weekend there with a friend of mine in the middle of April. It was my first time in the city and I really enjoyed it. We did not do anything out of the ordinary, we mainly wanted to check out all the main landscapes since you have to start somewhere when you get to a new place for the first time. I cannot really make any recommendations on what to do in Barcelona since we only did the touristy things but maybe one day I will return and explore a bit more. We decided to not use any public transports while we were there and walked everywhere so we had achy legs and feet by the end of the stay (very glamorous) but I think it is a very good way to get the feel of a city. We were also lucky enough to have good weather without it being so hot that you don't want to move for fear of dissolving in a bucket of sweat (glamorous, again). If I was to go back, I'd like to visit Camp Nou (the Barcelona FC home ground) and the remaining features of the 1992 Olympics.
Another fun weekend I had this past month was the weekend I spent at a spa hotel with two of my friends. I already mentioned this weekend in a previous post but this was before I even went there. It was such a relaxing little escape. We had chosen a hotel with a spa and it really was not busy at all so it was very nice to just enjoy some time just the three of us, catching up on everything. I had never stayed at a hotel that had or spa and stayed at a hotel just for the sake of it (we were only an hour away from home) but it is definitely something I would like to do again.
Even though my blog is still fairly new, I feel like I have already managed to make my love for Harry Potter well known. At the end of the month of April, I was lucky enough to visit the Warner Bros Studios in Leavesden for the 8th time ! Some people might say it is too many times (and actually they do say that) but to be fair, every time I have been there has been something new for me to discover. On this occasion there was a special feature about the Goblet of Fire where some of the props were returning to the studios for the first time since the filming of the films. The feature is on until 23rd September so there is still time to book if this is something that you would be interested to see. There are so many great things to see but my favourite has to be the model of the castle at the end of the tour. It has been there since my first visit but I am always in awe in front of it when I get to that part.I also have to be honest and say that I always spend too much money in the gift shop but I obviously NEED to represent my Hogwarts house - Slytherin - to the world.
I am going to keep this one short, I have already spoken about my mild obsession with straw bags and so here is the latest addition to the collection. I found this one in Barcelona and I thought it was so cute that I could not resist (yes I know, we are talking about a bag here). I added the little pompom detail but otherwise this is how it came when I bought it.
Sometimes I feel like I should not be listening to this type of music anymore. I mean I know the main demographic for boybands is teenage girl but as a twenty-something woman, I still sometimes like to listen to light-hearted music. The second album from Latin American band CNCO came out at the beginning of April and I have been listening to it on repeat because it's such happy tunes that put me in a good mood and to be honest, at times, that is the only I need from music.
