5 things I enjoyed in March
I know I have only just done the February version of this post but since I was super late posting it, I have to follow it up quite closely with the March one.
The first thing I really enjoyed this past month is the movie Black Panther. I am sure everyone reading this would have heard about it and even though it came out in February, I did not get to see it until the beginning of March. I sometimes am a bit weary of very anticipated and hyped films as I fear that they might be a disappointment but for some reason I went into this one with absolute confidence. First of all, I am a massive superhero movies fan - DC and Marvel alike - and it's very rare that I get disappointed. I am not a film geek and I do not overanalyse, what I expect from a film is to distract me for two hours. That being said, Black Panther is a very good superhero film. I really loved all the characters, I thought the pace was pretty good and as I cannot avoid talking about this: it was quite refreshing to see a mostly black cast and I do understand why it is so important to have representation in arts. I particularly liked Letitia Wright in the role of Shuri, I thought the character was so cheeky and funny and I cannot wait to see her in Avengers: Infinity War because she is amazing.
My previous post was all about straw bag and clearly it was a bit of an obsession of mine last month. I did not include this one in the previous post because I knew that I wanted it to be featured in this one. I have not been using it yet since I feel like it is more of summer bag so I might end up thinking that it is very impractical and hating it but as of now I am just happy to have found it. I bought a straw bag last year but I ended up using it only to put my grocery shopping because you can only hand carry it, so if you put too many things in there, you end up getting a free arm working (always look on the bright side of life). This is the reason why I had been looking for one that I could wear over the shoulder. I have my fingers crossed that it is going to be as practical as I imagine when I do start using it. You can find it on Asos here.
Cancer Research UK were organising a little challenge over the month of March where people taking part would have to go 10,000 steps a day. I enrolled through work as did 23 of my colleagues and it was quite the challenge for me indeed. I live quite a sedentary lifestyle, I have an office job and I am not the fittest of people. However I did manage to reach the total of 310,000 steps by the end of the month so I was pretty proud of myself. Once I set my mind to something I try my best to succeed, even if that means doing over 150,000 in the last week to catch up!
Another Asos purchase (story of my life) was this ring. I only bought it towards the end of March but I have been wearing it every day since then and I love it. I think it is pretty cute and not too much in your face like some other turquoise stone rings I have seen in the past. This one Is sterling silver, I feel like the older I get (said she at the grand old age of 27), the more I tend to drift away from rings that leave your fingers green after 2 hours. Granted it is more expensive but in this case so marginally more expensive that it would be ridiculous to prefer going around with green fingers (you know it!). You can find the same ring here.
I have a bit of a weird passion for lipsticks. Even though I tend to not wear make up on a daily basis when in the office (I prefer staying that extra 10 minutes in bed than doing my makeup), I absolutely playing around with lipsticks. This one is the NYX Powder Puff Lippie in the colour Pop Quiz. I have started this trend coming up more and more and because I have a curious mind (very good excuse if I ever heard one), I decided to try it myself. I really like the colour, I hesitated between a few different ones at the counter but I went for a darker red which is what I am into at the moment. Some would say that this is more of an autumn colour but, one, who cares, and two, have you taken a look at the weather in the UK? I thought the application might be a bit awkward as you cannot be very precise and I was prepared to end up with lipstick all the way down my chin but thankfully I did not and actually the result was pretty good (if I do say so myself). It has a good staying power and with the amount of food I shove into my face on a daily basis, this is an absolute requirement for me.
